I moved away from Google as my default search engine last week - truly incredible how much they've let their signature product slip.
Someone on Reddit searched for (the non-existent) John Wick 5, and Google spared no expense to lie to them.

As someone whose main use for social media is to say, "hey look at this cool/interesting/important thing I found!', it's nice to find a platform that doesn't penalize using it that way.
People are often surprised when I tell them this: both Twitter and Facebook/insta/threads are now specifically engineered to downgrade, hide, suppress real journalism. If this platform is different, that's a huge change
