When I campaigned for this office folks would ask me *my* plan for getting things done. I said that it’s *we* who’ll get things done. I knew @councilormorillo.bsky.social would win and that I’d be able to find ways to lend my skills to uplift her leadership. And that’s what we’ve done today.
Portland City Council passed a new land use fee targeting the impacts of detention facilities after months of munitions use at the South Portland ICE building.

(1) CC cannot unilaterally revoke the ICE permit;
(2) CC cannot lean on PP&D to do it;

I hadn’t really thought about it until today but the fact that transit police have their own special branding and separate force probably contributes to the narrative of transit being disproportionately unsafe, which is frustrating given that it’s drivers who are killing people.
