Perhaps they have other self-serving motives and are just fine with using people as collateral, but the end result is the same and we should treat them as if they are in it for the murder because that’s all we are going to see of it.

NWS is under NOAA in Dept of Commerce, which was targeted by DOGE for cuts. Several senior mets took early retirement offer (5 at my local WFO); the remaining may be subject to summary cuts. They are not done.
