I have done a lot of cool things; now I mostly do crafts. She/her in the Pacific NW
I set a new personal best on my back squat today (260 lbs for 5 reps) so I am very excited and proud of myself about it!

Driving home from the gym today, I was behind a car that had used what looked like mailbox letter stickers to spell out “WARNING: I DRIVE LIKE YOU” on their bumper, which I thought was pretty excellent. Very “I hope you have the day you deserve” energy.

Stay alive and make things
this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

Unexpected benefit of running to the auto parts store down the road to buy a new rear wiper for my car: the person who sold it to me then said, “hey, want me to install that for you?” And then did! In like a minute! This is a good reason not to buy certain things online!

In my current pursuit of making things to avoid / derail / swerve around despair, I am making my second-ever quilt. I got the top of it fully sewn together today:

My mom, about eagles: “They’re messengers from God, did you know that?”

In today’s effort to create/find light in the darkness, I made sourdough bread for the first time:

I own both of these prints, and very few things in life have brought me more joy than they have!

I want to do the cool thing that the cool kids are doing!

I’m so stoked about this that I’m considering making my first-ever trip to New York to see it!

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter to Star in ‘Waiting for Godot’ on Broadway
They played slacker buddies in three “Bill & Ted” films, and next year they plan to reunite for Beckett’s classic tragicomedy.

I have started saying “I’m all out of visiting energy” and it works surprisingly well!
Instead of coming up with excuses to leave social gatherings, my friend has started saying, "I'm done hanging out" and as an introvert I think that's beautiful.

It's hard when you're a kid, but the older and more independent you get, the more you realize that there's certain stuff that nobody can make you do. They can certaily try. They can threaten, wheedle, manipulate, cajole, insult, etc. They can have lots of feelings about it. They can deputize others.

I keep trying (and failing) to create a 300-character post that will fully encompass how I’m feeling about having gotten to look at my dad’s high school yearbooks (for the first time, 16 years after he died). It’s times like this that I miss Livejournal. Grief and life and linear time are so weird!

Our kitten likes to lick me on the face, which means that the line “my cat’s breath smells like cat food” runs through my mind NUMEROUS times per week.

The show itself is goofy as hell, but the fact that I can’t buy the music from the original Jem & the Holograms cartoon is legitimately annoying to me. The Misfits have some extremely catchy songs! I want to listen to them in my car!

Don’t mind me, just starting my day by crying on my couch while watching the video of Tracy Chapman performing “Fast Car” on the Grammys

It’s apparently Spotify Wrapped day, which is the one day a year that I consider using Spotify, much like watching the dog show every Thanksgiving makes me want a dog for two hours every year.

My brother is great for many reasons; one of them is that we can and will text each other lyrics from the movie Newsies on a random Wednesday morning, which is a pretty excellent way to start the day.

I have gotten many compliments about my “follow your weird heart” shirt, which is one of Jay’s creations!
Here's your semiregular reminder that I design cool t-shirts, which are currently very on sale! You can see more and buy 'em all at www.teepublic.com/user/chekhov...

Please enjoy this photo of my cat in her new happy place - next to the heating vent in my office in her pile of cardboard boxes (which I have saved for her because she loves both being in boxes and chewing on boxes):

Fun fact: today, one year ago, I was in LA taping my episode of Jeopardy! It is very fun and weird to think about!
