Wow.

“Conservatives won't allow reporters to travel with Poilievre during the upcoming election.”

There’s no recent precedent for a major party barring reporters from accompanying a campaign.

Add this to refusing to apply for security clearance.

Are we supposed to believe he’s not hiding things?

This is a great mindset for our current political climate. Here in Canada I'm shopping local, buying Canadian and EU products, donating to independent media, and recently volunteered at my kid's school. I'm also voting in our city by-election, because every election matters and every vote counts.

We chose in part to raise our kids in Canada because they’re much safer from gun violence here than in the U.S. The last thing I want to see on city council is someone using NRA talking points. By-election turnout is always very low—if you live in Vancouver, PLEASE vote & keep this guy off council.
Ken Sim has been posturing for weeks about how he’s acting to improve public safety. Today, he’s running a candidate who is opposed to the national handgun freeze - a freeze that is SUPPORTED by the Vancouver Police Department.

From December 21st. And with the threat to Canada getting bigger every single day since, Canadian media are still not making Poilievre’s dangerous security clearance dodge a nearly big enough story.

No person should hold power without proving they can pass a normal security clearance process.
With everything we’re seeing in the United States & the world with increasingly blatant influence & corruption in politics, it should still be a much bigger story in Canada that right wing CPC leader Pierre Poilievre refuses to, & possibly can’t, be successfully granted the usual security clearance.

“Did you know that of $100 spent in a chain store, only $13 stays in the local economy? Of $100 spent at a locally owned store, $48 stays in the local economy.” Just another reminder of one of many reasons to #ShopLocal as you do your last minute #Christmas shopping. HT @jasonthorne.bsky.social
