Listening to an old playlist for the first time since the Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer allegations dropped and it fully took my breath away when Mr. Weinstein Will See You Now came on. How fucked in the head you have to be to write that song while doing what she did to those women.

Update: thinking about this made me so anticipatorily angry that I texted my family to bail on Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, now we’re going to a complete stranger’s polyamorous trans Thanksgiving dinner instead. Yay!
I have literally exactly two things I ask my family to respect when I spend time with them: my pronouns are they/them, and I don’t eat pork. So naturally literally the only thing that EVER happens is I get misgendered over a pork based meal. Never knew there were so many ways to eat pork.

So much of the consolation we try to offer after a death is rendered null by a bad death, and I wish we could talk about that more. No one knew what to do in the wake of a death that was premature, painful, slow, and preventable. None of the things we say applied, so people said nothing.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people do “gentle parenting my Republican uncle at Thanksgiving” genre videos where “gentle parenting” is being used to refer to blatantly mean but passive aggressive talk. I hope to Christ this isn’t how you propose we speak to children (or anyone!)
