Decided to try and hop a curb at 40 MPH on my bike (regular mountain bike plus very long, very steep hill) because Teenage Me had a bad understanding of physics. Flew about 100 feet, landed face-first in grass, bike landed next to me a second later. Rug burn on my face, moderate concussion.

Y'know, the weirdest bit of casual sexism I've seen lately is how in SD Gundam G Generations Eternal, during character request missions, ONLY female characters will ask you for money. Mission runs, suits, materials, those are all unisex. But cash? Only the girls will ask for that.

I was homeless for a while in my early 20s. At one point, I used the last of my money to buy a theater ticket to a midnight showing, just to get out of the cold for a while. That movie was The Fourth Kind, and it freaked me the fuck out. Especially when I had to go back out into the night after.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I don't understand why people are upset about that Startleet Academy poster. It's a show about a new crop of cadets establishing what Starfleet can and will be going forward, AND it's a YA drama show. Why were you expecting buttoned-up professionalism?
