my kid is getting REALLY into A Charlie Brown Christmas

sisters-in-law, the ones married to your spouse’s sibling, are for whom it is the most difficult to christmas-shop

finally got the time over the weekend (my child was using my phone to watch daniel tiger on the train rides to and from grandma’s house) to finish Oakley Hall’s WARLOCK. that’s a book about america right there.

i am looking for a canary yellow wool beanie. the kind of yellow the man in the yellow hat would wear in the winter

starting today you can inflict Bob Dylan’s CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEART on your family

taking out the wishbone in advance is so worth it

a household income of $140,000 is obviously not even close to a hardship. if i were a single parent making that i would have ~$1250 left over each month after rent daycare and taxes. doable but not comfortable! I could live somewhere cheaper but I would have to spend a lot more on transportation

i haven’t been on a domestic flight since 2019. 2022 if you count flying to cancun as domestic. but i tend to dress up for a flight simply because my nicer clothes are bulky and i like to travel light

Herb-roasted turkey

Fluffy mashed potatoes
Roasted sweet potatoes

Cranberry sauce (both can and homemade)

zohran mamdani needs to give a freewheeling press conference every single day from 6:30 am to 8:30 am. he will rule the world if he does so

there are about a million different incentives for Zohran to play this the way he did, it's very funny that there's basically no reason for Trump to behave this way except that 1. he loves celebrities 2. is obsessed with being liked in New York City and 3. was clearly charmed... and that worked
November 21, 2025 at 9:31 PM
no yeah i mean trump’s bad but like new york city is the closest thing we have to a second federal city and you shouldn’t go in there and make an old man upset. if trump was 43 years old and sharp as a tack you’d do it differently

The Constitution of the United States makes it clear that I cannot run for president.
[cut to tight close up]
That's why we're going to ABOLISH it, and write a NEW one.
[cut to Zohran in front of a UHaul full of pitchforks]
But we need your help

my kid has some books about a dog who lives in paris. in one he takes a vacation to provence and the book has the TGV jingle (C-G-Ab-Eb) written on the 1st page. recently i played it on our little casio piano. since then, if i don’t play it, i’m treated as if i just ripped off one of her fingernails
