Retired Army Sgt. Brian Wofford spoke to me this morning at the Oklahoma City #NoKings protest. Didn’t expect him to be carrying his DD214 so I asked some warmup questions like when he got out and whether his injury was service-related.

He paused while describing the car bomb in Iraq to say this:

So let's see-I'm definitely a citizen, and haven't had any contact with Hamas, so I guess I'm a violent criminal?

This is fucking ridiculous and worse, it's dangerous. So much for "toning down the rhetoric."
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."

Can somebody please tell me how this makes us safer or a better country? It was never about crime-the cruelty is the point.
She was brought to the US as an 8yo, worked hard, studied, earned a scholarship, planned to become a nurse.

ICE kidnapped her. Held her for 6 MONTHS in a detention facility with conditions so miserable that she finally agreed to voluntarily move to Honduras, which her family left at gunpoint.
After six months in ICE custody, Charlotte woman chooses voluntary removal to Honduras
A 20-year-old Honduran woman who has lived in the Charlotte area for more than a decade will soon be removed from the U.S.

RIP to a legend. This is amazing on so many levels...
Ozzy is one of like 3 people in Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 that comes off as a decent human being and I always love the scene where Penelope Spheeris interviews him making breakfast while he explains the ups and downs of the business.

Disregarding, for a second, the content of this letter (which of course makes no sense), is anyone else embarassed that the the president of our country is sending out official letters at a 5th grade grammar level? Any middle school English teacher would run out of red ink correcting this.

I'd really love to hear someone objectively explain how these tariffs are going to lower prices and benefit Americans. There's just no good explanation. We've played the stupid games, now we're winning the stupid prizes.

I'd sure like to hear from everyone who had an issue with a Sec of State using a private email server. That was admittedly a national security issue-we agree! Now-what do you say about using non-governmental chat apps to discuss classified military action?

The Republican Party is more or less built on reactionary opposition to the Democrats policies rather than their own actual policy ideas, and unfortunately the Democrats’ most recent policy was “having a strong economy”
The funniest thing about all this is Joe Biden built a "bring back US manufacturing" button and Trump could have just kept pressing it but instead he insisted on smashing the "crash the stock market" button

It can't be overstated how good this reporting has been from @wired.com over the past couple of months. Filling the void of legacy outlets that are turning a blind eye. I've subscribed for years, and it's always been worth it, but now more than ever. If you care about democracy, please subscribe.
Employees at the Social Security Administration (SSA) are now forbidden from accessing “general news” websites, including @wired.com, WaPo, and the NYT.

How will they find out what's happening inside the SSA? Maybe DOGE will tell them!

I think what this shows is that most people aren't actually anti-vax, they're just extremely obstinate about being asked to do anything even slightly inconvenient when they don't see an immediate benefit for themselves
In Texas, said one doctor: “We’ve vaccinated multiple kids that have never been vaccinated before, some from families that didn’t believe in vaccines.”
