60 workers at Ubisoft’s studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia voted to form a union.

In response, Ubisoft announced it was closing the entire studio. Maybe it’s time to look into the millions they get in public money for operating in Canada.

The scale of Trump's pay-for-access scheme outlined by the @nytimes.com is mindblowing. Crypto contributions resulting in business deals with the Trump family crypto businesses, oil companies buying influence and later reaping benefits from friendly policies, and a $1 million pardon.

Today we're publishing a monster feature that dives deep into the initial six weeks over Elon Musk's government takeover. Our entire newsroom came together to help make this story happen. Read this culmination of our blood, sweat, and tears:
Inside Elon Musk’s ‘Digital Coup’
Musk’s loyalists at DOGE have infiltrated dozens of federal agencies, pushed out tens of thousands of workers, and siphoned millions of people’s most sensitive data. The next step: Unleash the AI.

This is a good idea. A daily Democratic press conference with a consistent, skilled spokesperson who covers two things:

1. What DOGE and the Trump administration did to the American people today

2. What Democrats are doing in response
I firmly believe @petebuttigieg.bsky.social should lead a daily press conference. We are in desperate need of simple, unified messaging
Waging a procedural war and an information war will at least delay — and possibly prevent — an actual war. I don't get why Democratic leaders don't see the necessity here.

1. Show up. Go to the places Musk is taking over, bring cameras, demand to find out what's going on and where it breaks the law.
2. Refuse to allow standard business to continue unimpeded. Deny unanimous consent, delay votes, etc.
3. Be public about how illegal all of this is
4. Lay out a plan

even when republicans lose the press treat them like they represent america’s real majority so it is no surprise that they would talk about a narrow victory like it’s 1964 and democrats just got goldwatered
Donald Trump won less than 50% of the popular vote (49.8%) and won barely by a margin on 1.5% (Harris won 48.3%) - it was the fourth smallest winning margin since 1960.

Yet here is @politico.com's "West Wing Playbook" just casually mentioning he "won in dominant fashion.

Effing shameless.

I think a lot of US election commentary effectively Red Waved itself--basing analysis on immediate outcome rather than a review of Trump's 1.6% margin and failure to break 50%.
Nothing at the moment is driving me quite as nuts as the folks who are earnestly preaching how Dems must reignite themselves because of their election “disaster.” On what planet? Trump edged out a candidate who had only 15 weeks to campaign and who was running against a global anti incumbent trend.

This guy remains a fucking weirdo. Those may technically be the words of Cormac McCarthy, but they're uttered by a sociopathic killer (Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men) and are a statement of an unrepentant nihilistic world view. Great attitude for a possible future POTUS, right?
