While I'm pretty much done with cons for my own mental health I do recommend cons have someone like @thonfitzysham.bsky.social or hire him to be guest at alot of events

It's very hard to run a con appeasing the cosplay crowd they are more gatekeeping that any fandom and as a first time con director I've lost sanity from baseless accusations that I avoid appearing in other cons in person
We gotta divorce this hobby and industry from consumerism. One gatekeeping based on how many figures someone has is wild.
Two, manufacturers specifically target whales and perpetuate toxic elements of this community.
Three, it’s bad that anime production isn’t profitable without merch sales.
