So ... a dangerous abuser accuses his partner or ex-partner of a violent crime (this is common) & get the cops to charge her, usual delays until it's dropped/heard and now the govt will cut off the accused's entitlements, making her - & her children - wholly dependent on her abuser? Get out of it.

Adani have formally dropped their 5 1/2 year SLAPP court action against Ben Pennings.

To end the case, Ben proposed a very minor restriction to his political freedom.
20,000+ Australians donated $1.2m for Ben’s legal fund.

A lot of this is unblieveable and tragic, but this floored me - she had to FOI her own birth records. She didn't know she'd had a uterine tear until her GP ordered an ultrasound for her.

What on earth was the hospital *actually* doing for her other than providing a bed and some gaslighting?

Calling Labor's current approach "incrementalism" or "small target" or whatever makes it sound like they are are an overly cautious progressive govt. Matters like this show that they are actively pursuing policies that make them indistinguishable from the centre right: not incrementalists at all.

Watch the Liberals celebrate abandoning communities to worsening climate disasters.

We see you. We won’t forget.
Anyone remember that famous image of Liberal MPs celebrating the passage of the carbon tax repeal bill? 2014.

Today's pre meeting 'power walk' by the conservatives had the same vibes.

Dan Tehan on RN saying that governments will pay to keep existing ageing coal fired power stations open, as well as doing lots more gas drilling. While claiming 'the market will dictate'. Lots of talk of 'base load', misunderstanding modern energy systems.

What a mess.

The wild thing is that certain sections of the media scold Gen Z like they used to scold Millennials, proving that the only real throughline is a hatred of young people.
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”
