Even beautiful nobles who should never have to exert themselves must sometimes go to the Witch's Wood and consult the bones. Such is the case in chapters 6 and 7 of @serratheswift.bsky.social's Kill the Beast!

Welcome to chapters 4 and 5 of @serratheswift.bsky.social's epic fantasy Kill the Beast, in which hardcore sword-wielding Lyssa meets...aristocratic, pathetic, awfully-dressed Alderic Casimir de Laurent. It would be a shame if he were to join her.

Update: the new coworker has been moved to a different part of the office. My skulls get to stay 😌🙏🏻

I have been informed that my brand new coworker is uncomfortable with the crystal skull collection at my desk.

Excuse me while I go purchase another crystal skull.

Every time I use the title (Kill the Beast) in the narrative. Y'all would be DEAD dead 😆
Your readers must take a shot every time "X" happens in your book. What specific quirk/imagery/trend/etc is it, and how dead are they? #WritingPrompt

Hey Bluesky, is there an indie bookshop out there willing to ship a book to Brazil, please? Speaking for a very big fan who wants a copy of CHOCOLAT in English. If you can help, I'll put you in touch...

My book Kill the Beast is available for preorder (link in bio!) and is a fun fantasy adventure about a Witcher-style faerie hunter & a useless but fashionable nobleman working together to kill a monster 💖
Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

This makes me happy because there are a ton of woodpeckers in the trees around my office and I see them constantly!! 🥰
Last year, I heard one woodpecker. This year, I swear I’ve heard three different knock-knock-knock-knocks so I think there might be a whole family of them…

Traditionally, woodpeckers are good omens: representing creativity, optimism, communication, progress, revival and spiritual protection 🤎

Hey. Stop apologizing for promoting your book. You see all these “writing is resistance! write, make art!” posts that have been going viral like every day around here? Promoting the book you wrote so people know it exists is supposed to be the end result of that. You’re fine. Just promote your book.

I'm a little more concerned about the labor camp(s), mass deportations, our trans citizens being targeted, our allies being punished, an unelected psychopath having access to basically everything the president does...you know. Fall of democracy shit. Tomatoes are pretty far down the list right now.

Things feel overwhelmingly terrible in this country right now, but I'm trying to hold onto the small things that bring me joy. Like being absolutely SURROUNDED by crows on my walk today, all of them screaming at me for more peanuts.
I've been calling it the Crownado.
