Please write to your MSPs to ask them to reverse the proposed cuts to active travel funding. There will be no significant shift to active travel unless we invest to make the roads safer for cyclists and pedestrians. Kids won’t cycle to school, their parents won’t let them until it’s safe to do so.
So more money for roads whilst the active travel budget has fallen. Transport CO2 levels remain stubbornly high. ☹️😩 You can take action against this here action.cyclinguk.org/page/162181/...

Spot on. Comprehensive pedestrianisation should be far higher up the agenda in our cities than it is. Nearly wherever cars go, cities get worse. Nearly wherever they’re removed, those urban spaces flourish.

Great short film on Paris’ school streets, the phasing in particular is genius (block street then see how traffic reacts before making permanent) & last speaker sums up the blatant inequality of designing streets for cars when 100% of kids don’t drive. Would love to see Glasgow take Paris’ lead.
