The Irish government has just announced plans to gut judicial review by (amongst other things) narrowing locus standi so much that civil society groups won't be able to challenge illegal acts of public bodies. Amongst other things, this is clearly contrary to Articles 79 and 80 GDPR.

Because of external factors, this weekend’s Gist came out on Tuesday.

So if you got a chance to hit repost that would be very helpful.

Government claim that Judicial Reviews will be up 30% this year & will “drown the courts” is false, they’ll be down about 15% in 2025 #Planning #Speirgorm
Min Jack Chambers claim: “number of judicial reviews rapidly growing. 2024 saw 43% increase on 2023, & 2025 a further 30% increase in cases in Court”

Factcheck “number of JR decreasing year on year..members of public to take 40% fewer in 2025 & overall JRs will be 15% lower this year”

So why are they still empty?

Our government & Gardai chose the official "softly softly approach" during Covid lockdown against the fascists.
They have stuck to it ever since. So far it's resulted in burning down buildings and homeless encampments. Daily violent attacks on people who "look/sound foreign" and even murder 😫🤬

OK, we're going to need to know how the "fireworks" line made it out into the media, when it very much appears that this is a clear-cut case of arson.

So it wasn't fireworks. It was a calculated and deliberate attempt at the mass murder of men, women and children.

Catherine Connolly secured the first preference votes of 914,143 people — the most of any Irish politician ever.

She is the 10th Uachtarán na hÉireann and, when inaugurated on November 11, will take her place in the annals of history.

In the 2018 election, five of the six candidates ran as independents, and Sinn Fèin was the only party to run a candidate. In 2011 it was four of seven.
The idea that it is too hard to get on the ballot is complete and utter nonsense - Steen and the rest didn't do the work. End of story.
Listen, I’m as disappointed as the next person that we didn’t have a Silly Goose Candidate this time around. There should always be a whimsical candidate in the presidential election. But it’s been a fair system for the past ten presidents, apparently.

In order to facilitate Israel committing genocide the Irish government risks the safety of Irish people and infrastructure. I hope that pat on the head from the US is worth it
The Irish govt has done nothing to stop a genocide as required under international law. Instead, it has facilitated the slaughter of innocent men, women, and children. It has refused to enact the Occupied Territories Bill or sanction Israel in any way.
