there's a couple episodes of manben (iirc shuzo oshimi and inio asano) where "the author's barely disguised fetish" comes up, and they both have this great reaction like no, hang on, sometimes you gotta throw in extraneous fetishes to keep people off your trail
People who make “barely disguised fetish” jokes are cowards. It’s not meant to be disguised you’re just too dense to accept it.

gf and I ended up watching about half of agent aika for a date tonight and I think that might be one of the greatest ecchi anime of all time. or at least that I've seen.
it's got like unbelievably good character animation and the mechanical design isn't half bad either. very homoerotic also.
