Kristi Noem has been working with the producer of “Duck Dynasty” to pitch a reality TV show—titled “The American”—where immigrants will compete in a string of challenges across the country “for the honor of fast-tracking their way to U.S. citizenship,” according to a new report.
Noem Plots Reality Show Where Migrants Fight for Citizenship
A Homeland Security official told the Daily Beast that the show is in the early stages of vetting, though approval has not been given—or denied.

Could we at least live in the kind of cinematic dystopia that wouldn’t have gone direct to video?

Trump was just negotiating with Saudi Arabia, the country responsible for 9/11 and dismembering a Washington Post journalist. And took a $400 million bribe from the country that finances Hamas, famous for its hostage taking. So take a seat, you crazy, white supremacist bitch.

A win! A federal appeals court just ordered Elon Musk and his DOGE to resume efforts to hand over internal documents. The ruling directs Musk’s team to answer questions and provide records requested under the Freedom of Information Act records they’ve been stonewalling for months.

Wow! Congress is actually attempting to do something! In a rare bipartisan stand to defend its own authority, lawmakers are quietly pushing back against Trump’s attempt to take control of the Library of Congress.

This was always how this was gonna end. Trump never had any strategy and isn’t even capable of explaining how every country in the world is “ripping us off.” It’s all just performative idiocy for no reason, other than perhaps insider trading opportunities.

Ever since Kilmar Abrego García was wrongly deported, his wife, Jennifer, has had no choice but to become everything at once: A single mother to three kids with special needs. An advocate. A fighter.

I spent an afternoon with Jennifer. Here’s her story: www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...
Her husband was mistakenly deported. Now she’s caught in a political frenzy.
Jennifer Vasquez Sura has fought to bring her husband, Kilmar Abrego García, home from a Salvadoran prison while caring for their children, two of whom have autism.

In SCOTUS's 7-2 ruling stopping more kidnapped people from being sent to El Salvador, the majority justices didn't wait for Alito to write his dissent.

That's odd and suggests they didn't trust him to act in good faith, that his plan was to hold up the order until the prisoners were already gone.

That the United States is not only sanctioning such shocking inhumanity, but is also *paying* for it, is so despicable.

And that silence you hear is not one conservative "Christian" speaking out against it.

The other thing about this is that it's possible that the Schumer/CR debacle will end up being the inverse of a pyrrhic victory. You're actually seeing Senators now lining up to show they can fight. Booker's the big one. But you also see Gallego and Schiff announcing holds.
This is so on the mark. Does Booker see an opening here for himself? Absolutely. You want people like that.
what booker is doing right now is an example of what i mean when i say things like “we need more ambition right now.” there is room in american politics right now for people with ambition to take big stands and reap the rewards. he’s doing it!
