Calling the press “fake news” is harmful. Calling them “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” for publishing reporting is something else entirely. Treason is a capital crime. Suggesting journalists should face it for exercising their First Amendment rights and doing their jobs is dangerous.

California has one; all our voting is done on paper ballots, counted with simple readers that have no internet hookup. Every election, the Rs scream fraud, we point to the racks of ballots and say "There they are. Knock yourselves out." They spend months trying to find fraud and come up with zero.
