Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

What's it called when you have like 25 things to do, feel overwhelmed by it, and instead of just starting and doing one of them to knock things off the list you sit and stare at your computer screen and do nothing and then build up more dread about the stuff you're not doing. I got that.

Important to remember that everyone involved in renaming the DoD to the Department of War is afraid to take the subway.

That's interesting. Just today Trump jumped in to stop someone from asking his AG about the Epstein files the day after he sent the military through a park in Los Angeles as a show of force a few days after he helped cut the ribbon on a concentration camp in the swamps of Florida and gutted Medicaid
A reporter’s conversation with Joe Biden prompted a cascade of concern among his top aides, showing how insularity defined the end of his campaign. nyti.ms/3GwBOnh

I basically like my life, but I also feel that living in the world right now - I mean, especially right now, but really all the time - requires a level of radical compartmentalization that gives me the constant low-level burning sensation of going insane. Anyone else feel this??

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

Have I missed it or have the Chicago Bulls and NBA *not* made any public comments on Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s kidnapping for wearing Bulls merch?

It has nothing to do with antisemitism.
That’s a cover—for whatever the heck they want to do.
And using Jews as a partisan ploy? THAT’S antisemitic.

Stop with THEIR framing. It's not "combating antisemitism." (And I say this as a Jewish atheist.) It's criminalizing free speech.

Here’s the thing about the tariffs: there will be no “short term pain”. Only long term. Every time a company realizes they can get away with charging you extra they don’t ever lower the price again. They just gouge. Whatever price hikes there are will be here for good.

The governor who couldn’t vote: Why history forgot Oregon’s 1st female head of state
America’s first female governor served in Oregon three years before women in the state gained the right to vote. But history has largely forgotten her. That wasn’t an accident.
