Toronto Council meets today! It's budget time. This year, the mayor has backed a low residential property tax increase (just 2.2%!) so it's not clear what council will argue about, but I'm sure they'll find something.

i have beef with toronto's parks and recs system. does not a single public pool have a sauna. is a sauna not considered an essential public pool amenity here. i have very real problems

I think one of the big issues about P3s (Public-Private Partnerships) that we don't talk about is how blame is shifted onto public agencies for failures of the private sector.
Yes Metrolinx and TTC have some issues, but I see no public criticism of Mosaic Transit Group, the consortium. (1/2)

You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

Something I have to reiterate is that you are being straight up lied to about trans people and our healthcare on an unfathomable scale, this instance reporting is already being torn to shreds by other people commenting, but the frequency of this kind of reporting is astonishing, it's neverending.
dupont station mentioned!! it's the coolest thing ever they have tiny circle tiles inside. im not sure why they do that. i think it makes them need to be replaced more often than your average, sensible rectangular subway tile
