Those that died served their country. They and their families now deserve honesty and transparency and justice from this government

🚨I'm joining ChinookJustice in calling on Keir Starmer to hold a judge-led public inquiry.

The Prime Minister promised transparency & accountability in public office. His disgraceful decision to deny the families an opportunity to find out the truth is the opposite of that

Are we in a hospitality transition?

From:

poor pay, cheap staffing almost everyone can afford to go out

To:

Well paid, smaller hospitality sector for the well off consumer.

I sometimes worry I exaggerate the collective madness of our media but the people who cheered Brexit, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss's mini-budget are now applauding Kemi Badenoch's speech. 'Parallell universe' doesn't come close. I suppose her not falling over is a win of sorts for them at the moment.

Camille Saint-Saëns was born OTD in 1835. The Carnival of the Animals features in our top ten playlist, of course, but there's so much more music to celebrate... including the first original score for a silent film!

Whatever happened to nuanced debate?

I know Bluesky is miles better than the other place. And there are great, reasonable people on here. But, by and large, you are either a good person (your position aligns with mine) or spawn of the devil (your position differs to mine)

@mrjamesob.bsky.social what an asbolute titan of a journalist Noga Tarnopolsky is, we've been subjected to two years of egregious blowhards across broadcast media giving their fact free, mostly bilious "expertise" often for clicks and clout, Noga stands out like a sore thumb in her professonalism

Farage commenting about Gary's SKY pay! What a joke he didn't mention his own obscene GB News pay or all his other little earners. Farage is a totally dishonest grifter just out to fleece as much money as he can by using his right wing views as publicity for his own personal benefit.

“This stuff is borne of a deeply shallow patriotism.”

After Farage calls on Sky Sports to sack Gary Neville over his comments about “angry, white, middle-aged men, @jonsopel1.bsky.social and @lewisgoodall.com ask: what does patriotism in the UK actually look like?
