@liveeventtrivia.bsky.social dude. Putting the answer in the questions is lame, unless you think it is called an "imperial imperial pint".

@liveeventtrivia.bsky.social another suggestion... Do a round one where you identify the person and say whether or not they are in jail.

@bikelaneuprising.bsky.social have you considered making "back to school" kits for high school clubs to distribute stickers and such? Our worst bike lanes in the city are in front and back of the high school during pick up/drop off... And graduation.

@liveeventtrivia.bsky.social idea for a music round: theme of songs that sample or are sampled by other songs where there is 1 point for identifying the sampler/samplee.

@paolobacigalupi.bsky.social reading"A Full Life" really changed how I live for my kids.I would share it with others, but can only find it behind a paywall which is hard to get others, already reluctant, to subscribe. Do you have an access point with less friction? Happy to buy for others if giftable!

@gardenersworldmag.bsky.social I was disappointed in the comments about using foreign trees for biodiversity in the 1st winter special episode. Please check out Doug Tallamy and maybe even invite him! Biodiversity needs to be about the ecosystem, not about trees that the insects and birds can't use.

In the UK, auto insurance prices dropped 16% in a year.

A big reason: Lower urban speed limits

Industry analyst: "Areas where 20mph zones have been introduced result in lower levels of claim frequency – a key factor in the cost of car insurance."

Why is it normal for cars to have 6 protected light cycles in an intersection, while pedestrians (and bikes who don't want to ride in front of cars) have zero?

Thanks Huffy. Guess bike riders should just give up their social life.

My neighbor tore down their garage to put in an ADU. They said they feel guilty about building a space they won't use as it will mostly be a guest bedroom.

Our society has taught us that it is better to have a bedroom for cars than for friends.

Word of the day is ‘forswunk’ (13th century): exhausted by work.

I like to add ‘foreswunk’, exhausted before you even begin.

The fact that I was treated like a Karen for telling someone they can't block the bike lane with their car in a school zone has been living rent free in my head all day.

This is for drivers. Would like to see a graph that shows the balance of how much time it's saved by the driver vs how much time they statistically take from others due to crashes.

The most dangerous part of driving is the cars.

We were late to the bike parade. A friend asked if we still biked. I said, "of course we biked, I was already running late so we didn't have time to drive and find parking."

Recognizing that travel time is door to door really reframes which are the fastest modes of transportation.

The story of why "It's a Wonderful Life" is a Christmas classic is a parable of how many amazing things we are missing due to copyright law.

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer" is clearly auto company propaganda. I mean that both as a joke and seriously.

Everytime I walk somewhere, I end up arriving late.

Not because I don't leave enough time to get there, but because I, on average, run into three people on the way that I end up chatting with.

In a car, you don't build community.

I think it is interesting that the tennis courts at our local park have less life than the parking lots (source: iNaturalist). The court users reject adjacent trees, and now want more court space. Should we give up our city's biodiversity goals for pickleball courts?

To put this in context for some men,

Being a woman is kind of like being a cyclist in a city where all the cars represent men.

You're are supposed to share the road equally with cars

You spend a lot of mental/physical energy staying safe

Some want you hurt and will blame you when it happens
a problem is that a lot of men are too misogynistic to believe women, even if we plainly say it to their face.
But even with the social media shit.......women are telling you what they want all day between the tweets, skeets, memes, jokes, IG posts, etc. When i was younger......it was like "What do women want?"........Hell......they are fucking giving you the game. It should be way easier.
