Interesting, this is a headline I would expect to see if Meta was throwing a bunch of money at The Next Big Thing without any actual plan for how to eventually turn a profit. I’m sure the Metaverse guys know what they are doing though.

Reasonable minds can disagree, but personally I would use the phrase “bucking tradition and legal precedent” for things like the president pardoning a pig instead of a turkey on Thanksgiving.

Maybe this is hubris on my part, but I have the same reaction to these articles as I do to stories about cult members when they say “it could happen to anyone.”
