I‘m instinctively suspicious of ID cards, especially if backed-up by a giant government database. But, if it‘s called ‘Brit Card‘ & it‘s justified on anti-immigration grounds then I go from suspicious to implacably against.

Why? Privatising Scottish Water is the last big public utility that would provide a massive casher to the UK Treasury.
That would fund the English Water Company buy out and fund these companies to buy Scottish Water. The only place they can go to for water to service England.

Full nationalisation is not an option Labour want. So that requires Scottish Waters reputation to be trashed enabling it to have the same Public / Privatised ownership.

Now that the Glen Sannox is fully operational & finally in service, Could the BBC (they love a good failure) turn it's attention to Hinkley point ? The project was originally scheduled to be completed by 2017 & cost £18 billion, but is now expected to be completed by 2031 & cost up to £46 billion.
