It is amusing to me how quickly a certain crowd has shifted from "SpaceX would never IPO because they want to make life multiplanetary" to "The IPO will allow them to make life multiplanetary even faster".

Really, this is Musk taking a detour from a vision he never intended to actually deliver on.
SpaceX executive confirms interest in an IPO

SpaceX’s chief financial officer has confirmed the company is considering an initial public offering as soon as next year to raise money for projects such as orbital data centers.

Go ESCAPADE, go Blue Origin!

This was the view from Jetty Park Beach of the 3:55pm (ET) Thursday launch of the New Glenn rocket.

Wow, just, wow.

Congratulations to the BO team!

President Trump has again nominated Jared Isaacman to lead NASA. Asked at his first hearing about meeting Trump, Isaacman repeatedly refused to say if Elon Musk was in the room. This is some of the worst testimony that I have ever seen in Congress.

I'll say this again:

In my opinion, when companies and institutions cave to Trump despite the law being on their side, they are not misunderstanding the law; they are making an educated guess that the United States is heading in a direction where, in practice, the law won't matter.

Blue Origin and ULA are not doing anyone favors when they project a launch rate many multiples of what they can actually achieve. I'm not even sure at this point who is the bigger offender.
Launch companies double down on increasing flight rates despite setbacks

Launch companies are reiterating plans to sharply increase flight rates to meet growing government and commercial demand, even as some fall short of earlier projections.

It's notable that Kavanaugh's concurrence that is getting roundly derided is not only the compromise position but also emphasizes why opinions are important. The public deserves to know the court's reasoning because it's a source of legitimacy. Without that, it's just an exercise of raw power.

The tolerance for lies is killing our country. Trump just called Chicago “the most dangerous city in the world, by far.” But its homicide rate isn’t even in the U.S. Top 20.
Will major media call out the lie – and call it “a lie” – or will they talk about his “tenuous relationship with the truth”?

While a lot of people point to this as a pivotal launch, it really isn't. Starship is now back to the same point it was at Flight 6 - controlled re-entry but with damage.

SpaceX achieved significant milestones with its latest test flight. But there is still a long road ahead if the company wants to achieve its ambitious goals

It should be noted that at this point in time, it appears SpaceX and HLS - not Boeing with SLS, Lockheed with Orion, or Axiom with space suits - will be the critical path towards whether the US can beat China back to the moon or not.
