American politicians might care about these events --- if only they were events in Iran and not in the USA.
The creation of ICE was kind of traumatic because of my family’s anxiety with my mom not having taken the citizenship test yet. And with Mahmoud Khalil having a similar documentation status, all of that is coming back. The rhetoric was scary, especially after knowing some history of “repatriation”.
You know, many of us said the post 9/11 War on Terror measures were Orwellian bullshit at the time, from DHS to ICE. The Patriot Act was chilling as well.
Some of us objected vociferously. Perhaps we didn't have the mics or the power, but we remember 2001-2005 as a terrible time in this country.

We were all ranting into the void of public indifference/false patriotism. There's still people around here saying things that make it clear to me that they're ok with it while being done in other countries to different Brown people with complete obliviousness to it being done to U.S. Brown people.

I need to know what these statistics are precisely. Is it that among successful “spontaneous remission” cases, placebos account for 40% and virus/infection-related cases account for another 40%? Because otherwise it’s just separate studies showing that infection-related remission is actually placebo
