“How many refugees have been granted asylum in the UK?”

Most people overestimate the number - by a lot. With far-right figures spreading misinformation, it’s hard for the public to know the truth.

Watch the video to see just how wide the gap is between perception and reality.

Phenomenal news - the birth cohorts are one of the UK's richest and most unique data resources.

I can't wait to see all the amazing evidence that we'll gain from this newest study!
Announcing Generation New Era: the first UK-wide birth cohort study in 25 years.

It will study 30,000 children born in 2026 across the four nations of the UK.

Watch out for upcoming opportunities for researchers and other stakeholders to engage with the study team via @clscohorts.bsky.social

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

At a child first aid course.

Fascinated to learn that around 20% of people survive heart attacks in Denmark vs 10% in UK: 90% of Danes are first aid trained vs 38% of Brits.

Reason? Done at school and you need to pass first aid to pass driving test in Denmark.

❗ Our NEW @YouGov.co.uk polling shows 68% of Brits think a closer relationship with the EU would have a positive impact on trade.

Even among people who said they would consider voting for Reform UK at the next election, 54% said closer EU ties would have a positive impact on trade.

Asked if the US is now a banana republic, Stiglitz answers ‘yes’. And no longer interested in soft power. Shameful indictment.

Seems clear the UK's 'national interest' is not in trying to go it alone, but in standing shoulder to shoulder with Canada, the EU and others.

Lewis is absolutely right. I once complained to the BBC when unusually a reporter used the term and it was upheld.
The thing with everything now is everything is true at the same time nothing is true. Fair play to @lewisgoodall.com to try show the factual path but it’s a hard slog these days to get so many things that were once universally accepted as the basis of fact for any discussion these days.

"Well you can't disagree because it's a fact."

Caller Richard dismisses @lewisgoodall.com's comprehensive justification for using the term 'irregular migration'.

Nobody got rich on their own.
Elizabeth Warren's observation also underpins the argument as to why it is right for the rich to say their fair share of tax.

Incredible from Bishop Budde: "We don't have to go to the highest extremes of contempt when we are in a position of disagreement. I think if we could get that back as a country, we would go a long way in being able to work together to address the many problems that we face." ~AA @maddow.msnbc.com
