Not to defend Whole Foods or anything, but instead of tedious Christmas music, the WF in Sunnyvale appears to be leaning hard into yacht rock. There are worse things than Christopher Cross to chill to whilst picking up mildly overpriced produce.

The 7th volume of the Aetherwaves compilation is out today as well! All tracks made using AE Modular gear from Tangible Waves (and 3rd party module makers, including me 😃) and all proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders.

It’s just about Bandcamp Friday again, so here’s my EP. Clangs and droney atmosphere. My attempt at modular shoegaze, which was not shoegaze but was pretty cool anyway.

Ah, December, the season when people who get songs stuck in their heads dread buying groceries.

I need to start wearing headphones to Safeway.

Just so "people" liking random old posts know-- if I look at your profile and all your posts are AI slop with ads for your youtube channel and links to place to learn to prompt AI midjourney or whatever, I will immediately block you.

That's 3 now.

Fiancee is out of town so I've got a free evening, a bottle of cheap pinot noir, and Power Wash Simulator 2. LET'S FUCKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

So I'm trying very hard to finish the last bits of Silksong in the next 5 days or so because I know once Power Wash Simulator 2 arrives I'll probably just play that while blissfully sinking into the couch for weeks.

(I'll take breaks for Hades 2, but honestly PWS2 is my big game of 2025.)

The NYT Spelling Bee word lists typically include English words, Hawaiian words (but not all Hawaiian words!), random slang the editor thinks is words and items on the menu at Indian restaurants.

The decisions about what to include and what not to include are often confounding.

I think I wouldn't mind AI results on my searches and stuff like Facebook if it wasn't always so insultingly stupid. Under a comic strip: "What's the story of this comic strip?" is a suggested question. On a lyric search: "You seem to be mistaken. That song is not by [foo]."

Welcome to the internet ca. 2003

Important to note that Youtube did not exist, and this is the kind of quality shit you would get handed as a .avi file on a zip disk from a friend at school, who had downloaded it from some shady Limewire or Hotline server.

Much like "crab", industrial music is constantly re-evolving from first principles basically anywhere where there's a bunch of metal and plastic laying about

Not feeling it tonight for music-making, so I'll just leave Logic open and all my gear turned on while I listen to Slowdive records and get good and depressed about not having actually done anything musicky in a couple of months.

At least the Slowdive records are good.

In the interest of being less of a lump and maybe getting some upper body strength to match the Wattage Bazookas, I've been keeping dumbbells on the couch so I can turn fidgeting into exercise. Today I'm listening to a Falco 12" B-side, "Auf der Flucht" (On The Run).
