Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

As a Canadian, I find this current situation incredibly depressing. I can't imagine the average American supports this new norm. Decades and decades of strengthening ties only for it all to be flushed down the toilet, and we're so confused by it we don't even have consensus as to why. 🤷♂️
