Just wanted to share a cute little kitten-satyr that started as a doodle and then morphed into a full color illustration. Unconventional satyrs are really fun to draw!

If people are hungry, you feed them.
If they are homeless, you house them.
If they’re sick, you give them medical care.
If they’re cold, you give them clothes.
It isn’t hard.
Far too many people are more than happy to sit in judgement of others rather than helping.

I'm starting to see multiple threads where bluesky folks are trying to raise money for their local food banks because of the shutdown of SNAP starting November 1... can we get a thread going for people to find each other? Drop your link and put your city in front, let's coordinate city by city!

When transphobes talk about "basic biology" like they're experts, it always reminds me of a seven year old who declares they know all the numbers that exist because they learned to count to 100.

This also doesn't mean donating your old canned food. If you're going to donate, give them cash. They often have arrangements to get food from retailers and wholesalers cheaper than you can.
I'm not attempting to yuck anyone's yum here, or tell you how you should spend your money, but...
In place of one of the Secret Lairs that drop tomorrow, maybe consider helping out a local food bank or shelter with the $ cost of whatever you would buy.
Or get your Lairs and still donate!

at this point I think people should go from "we need to do a general strike", to disseminating information how exactly to do a general strike.
I think not knowing how, or if it'd even be possible, might be stopping people. Now is the time to start spreading the information on how to go about it

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.
Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.
The people who need help are not the problem.
It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Excellent rule for life in general, really.
Cops are literally trained to manipulate information out of you. And for all the chatter I see about their nefarious, underhanded methods for this, the truth is, most don't need to bother, because a lot of you volunteer that shit willingly.

That’s right AI is ushering in the wonderful age of human utopia: working 72 hours a week for a pervert
The grind culture that birthed many Big Tech companies from Google to Amazon is back.
As the AI race heats up, startups are promoting hardcore cultures like “996,” or working 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week.

they invented a technology that makes you worse at your job while convincing you you’re better at it. also your boss has to believe you’re better at it or else the entire economy explodes. they made the sophon from three body problem in real life
"But when the team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20% slower when using AI than when working without it. Researchers were stunned. “No one expected that outcome. We didn’t even really consider a slowdown as a possibility.”

Replacing an expert with “AI” isn’t trading one expert for another. It’s closer to replacing an expert with an amateur con artist coasting on plagiarism, and whose mistakes keep having to be cleaned up by people who actually know what they’re doing.

Actual environmental success stories:
- we brought eagles and other raptors back from the brink after DDT use destroyed their eggs
- remember when acid rain was a thing? It’s not so much anymore
- same with the hole in the ozone layer
- Major US cities don’t look like this anymore:

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him
