0-5: won't ever relisten unless under duress
6-7: if the mood strikes I'll relisten
8-9: now that's what I call music
10: they don't love you like I love you
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way ('69)
I think this finally is going to make me dive deeper in traditional jazz. While this is still fusion to an extent, it def feels like the bridge that crossed the genre from jazz to jazz fusion. Excited to keep digging. Truly insane album.

Return to Forever - Romantic Warrior ('76)
Bounced off this a few times in the past, but something called it to me today. Might be the fact I just drove 5ish hours in silence, I wanted something that breathes a bit. The bass on the title track is all I can think about rn

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Live in Vienna '25 ('25)
Another good synth show, excited to get back to the rock shows once the Aust boots officially drop, but still have a few more of the Euro tour to go. I really love all the posters Amy Jean has done this go around.

Osibisa - Heads ('72)
Another really solid entry from them, doesn't have the same feel as the first two albums, but it's great in its own right. Sad that they only had these three albums with the original lineup, will be interesting to see where they go from here.

Osibisa - Osibisa ('71)
It's really interesting to see how they harnesses the energy & direction prog/psych rock was going in the late 60s early 70s while putting their own unique twist on it. It's so familiar while being so unique, I've had it on repeat since yesterday.

Osibisa - Woyaya ('71)
Grabbed this for my uncle for Christmas sight unseen because of the Roger Dean album art. Gave it a listen when I got home and it's wonderful. Haven't heard much afro rock from this era. I think theyve definitely piqued my interest to check out others.

Throbbing Gristle - Live at the Valksbühne, Berlin, New Year's Eve, 2005 ('25)
I can't even imagine what seeing TG live would be like. Great show, I've really liked all of their live releases so far.

Psychic TV - Themes ('82)
Limited release EP that was sent out with the first 1k copies of their debut album. Very dark unsettling ambient music, can see myself playing this a lot on days where I have a lot of coding to do.

Psychic TV - Force the Hand of Chance ('82)
Incredibly moving album, so different from both Throbbing Gristle and Coul, but it's almost like this strange beautiful combination of the two.

Suicide - Suicide ('77)
Wasn't a huge fan of this personally, but I can easily see why it's so influential. A few songs I really enjoyed, Rocket U.S.A. was probably the most interesting.

Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising ('85)
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did considering I've never been a big fan of the singles from them I've heard. It might just be because of the jack-o'-lantern on the cover, but the sound evokes in me how Halloween feels.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Unknown Mortal Orchestra ('11)
Outside of Sex&Food this band has been more of a singles listen for me. Enjoyed the debut a lot, it's very tight at only 30min, but it does a good amount with that time.

The Mystery Lights - Too Much Tension! ('19)
I did enjoy it, but at times it does feel a bit TOO on the nose of their inspirations. It almost feels like a coverband of some obscure lost band from the 60s which makes it hard for them to stand out with their own sound.

Coil/Nine Inch Nails - Recoiled ('14)
Was unaware Coil had already done work on previous NIN remix albums, so seeing these alternate takes and unused versions is even cooler. Downward Spiral is crazy, but honestly all of these have that eerie vibe Coil does so well.

Coil - Stolen & Contaminated Songs ('92)
Interesting to hear a full album of alternate/cut song ideas from the Love's Secret Domain sessions. Very clear how accessible that album is in retrospect when you look at what they had cooking at the same time. Enjoyed it a lot.

Coil - Love's Secret Domain ('91)
This album is so interesting, incredibly dark at times, while still having this backing dance hall rhythm. I hope they delve further into the post-industrial sound they found here, because it's a very unique vibe that I really like.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Live in Prague '25 ('25)
The Ice V jams were so good, I need a funk album from them so bad. Starting to get tired of Grim Reaper being in every synth show, but it's so good in the moment i can't even blame them one bit.
