Games completed in 2025 thread incoming:
Officially 6 weeks into being a dad - my hot take is the lack of sleep you get is overblown and far from the hardest adjustment. What’s harder is everything you enjoyed doing child-free (and probably still want to do) is now 3X harder to engage with in any sense.

I say it all the time - if the video game industry imploded tomorrow I still would not be able to play every game released that has interested me. My hobby would still be alive and thriving.
Someone called me a liar for saying I wouldn't buy any new games if every game suddenly had gen AI content in it, as if old games don't exist. These people are Desperate.

Y’all are wild for keeping your console boxes

reminder: throw away the box your phone came in, you will never use it.

First party controllers with TMR modules, a VR headset that acts as a testbed for ARM compatibility, a PC in the living room that just works. While it’s all made or broken by price, these are the kind of decisions that benefit a platform holder a decade for now.

Cooling a little on the Steam Machine after watching this (excellent) breakdown by DF. The specs are a bit underwhelming, so testing and price point will be crucial to see before jumping on it. Regardless, I can still see a large use case of this in my living room.

Valve is doing a great job building a true gaming ecosystem with a unified OS that spans multiple devices.

If they lean into retail expansion and ramp up marketing, they could really break out of the niche space they currently occupy in hardware and compete with the big 3.
Steam verified program is expanding to include Steam Machine and Steam Frame. If games are already Steam Deck verified, they'll automatically be verified on Steam Machine steamcommunity.com/groups/steam...

This Steam hardware news is insane. Basically everything I've wanted since migrating over to PC gaming as my primary ecosystem. I will now be able to have a console, desktop and handheld device that encompasses ONE library. Incredible.

Oh no

Tonight, after the results Tuesday, only underlines how much we do not have put up with these moderate, spineless losers who insist that people die so the planes can run on time.

Here’s my breakdown of EA’s pending sale… to Saudi Arabia… and why this is much, much bigger than video games. I’m late to this from a ‘news’ perspective obviously, but it’s because I worked on this video for about a month.

This comes off so tone deaf. How hard is it for people to recognize this country is controlled by the rich and we are simply tired of it? Mamdani’s policies are simply the answer for the majority of Americans.
A constituency of young-ish, middle-class-ish New Yorkers are disillusioned by a city of wealth that they can’t seem to access. It’s undeniable that these voters were crucial to Zohran Mamdani’s success.

I love when MM’s keys to the socials change because you can immediately tell who has them once posting starts
Literally half of the audience loves the rumor meister and half hates him.

It feels good to make art that people feel so strongly about.

Cities are cool. I enjoy living in mine and intend to raise my son in one to boot.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Halo going to PlayStation is so officially the death of Xbox as a platform. It’s Sonic going to Nintendo. Microsoft is just another giant game publisher now that will only release enthusiast-level hardware for a few sickos. Back to just Nintendo and Sony. Wild shit.
