TAX. THESE. OUT. OF. EXISTENCE!

These monstrosities should be illegal! Large vehicles are markedly deadlier for pedestrians. Being struck by a large SUV raises the risk of death by around 40 per cent compared with a smaller car; for children, the risk is up to eight times higher..."
Australia's road toll is rising, but not for the reason you think
A grim year on our roads, especially for pedestrians.

Labor is simultaneously talking about letting CSG, a Zionist security org with close links to the IDF, carry heavy firearms at events in Australia, and also Australians can't protest anymore... What does that feel like?? Seriously?? Anyone that isn't batshit psycho ok with this?

Adobe subscription traps are evil but if this is accurate it is very funny.
This is perfect. The DOJ's embarrassing snafu with disappearing redactions was the fault of Elon Musk. Musk cancelled government subscriptions to Adobe programs that would have made the redactions permanent. What a pack of fools.

Already planning ahead for 2026, I’m aiming for handmade or secondhand gifts throughout the year.
I tried to craft most of my presents for Christmas this year, as the consurism encouraged is a tad nauseating.

So for one of Alex's presents, I visibly mended his vintage Levis jacket. Pretty proud of how it turned out, too! 🤗

Merry Christmas to all. And especially to those for whom today feels complicated. To those missing someone. To those holding grief. The holidays can be overwhelming. So remember, you’re not alone. May you give yourself the same love and compassion you give to others. Much love.

We're living in The Onion. Three stories from yesterday were stranger than satire, and we’d better get used to the feeling. My write-up, and a bit of dark fun, in today’s piece.

I’ve said it from the start: where was this anti-racism taskforce previously when brown and black people where being persecuted in the media? Nice that the government thinks it’s going to do something, just won’t be for all Australians.
Oh yes, kindergartens, those incubators of hate.

Imagine if the same approach was considered to address all forms of bigotry, or violence against women, or any of the issues that are genuinely rampant among the population.

Yep, it's pretty fucking gross that the collective reaction of the entire Liberal party to this terrorist attack has been:
"We are SO back"
Have a quiet think. Let it be a guiding lesson for you

Whatever regretful comments you may have made in your life, whatever actions you wish you could take back, let your benchmark for the lowest of the low be using the deaths of 15 people for the relaunch of your political career

As plenty of women have always known, it’s easy to sucker a man with a big ego into pretty much anything you want if you just let him bang on about his obsessions, flatter him, and don’t let your own personality intrude.

In #melbourne today it's reaching 38°C, but that number doesn't tell the full story of what it'll be like in the city. We took these temperature readings at a bus stop and an unshaded tram stop in #Brunswick. Today is a great day to do the #SummerSurvey swelteringcities.typeform.com/summersurvey26

My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it

Not only was the "look how fast Australia reacts to gun violence" stuff presumptious, the specific guy who enacted those 1990s gun laws has gone full on racist maniac, decrying gun control and turning the Bondi attacks into a xenophobic hate-fest (journalists euphemise this as a "culture war")
John Howard’s dog-whistle intervention in gun debate all but dashes any hope of meaningful reform
In the absence of strong, swift action from Anthony Albanese, the former PM is shifting political debate from gun control to a divisive culture war

Facebook made an algorithm that gave Boomers whatever they wanted, and they destroyed democracy, and then all those FB product managers went over to OpenAI and made ChatGPT, and now they've made a chatbot that tells Boomers whatever they want to hear, and... well, this should go great.

I've never been more convinced Australia has the worst mainstream journalists in the world. Simple, thick, racist, ahistorical, bootlicking dipshits that lie and screech more than they think and feel. This weaponisation of a tragedy against anti-genocide voices is grotesque.

Netanyahu, Sussan Ley, & others choosing to attempt to score political advantage from the horrific events at Bondi, do a great disservice to all striving for greater peace & understanding in society.

The media would do us all a great favour by platforming the helpful & heroic, incl. Ahmed el-Ahmed.
