On a day named for a saint who wouldn’t bow to Caesar, I was so glad to read this beautiful story. I think you will be, too.

“We’re just as much a part of this world as anyone else. We’re here to stay, and we will not be erased by a Christo-fascist, neo-Nazi administration.” - Tanya Walker
Trump Erased Trans People From Stonewall’s Website. They Showed Up In Person.
“We know what Stonewall was. And we're here to protect that history."

Just in case people don't know the context, this is a policy called splitting the letters, developed by fundamentalist Christians to use feminist and queer language and culture to split the T off and then turn the others against each other.

You can watch their 2017 conference planning it.
UPDATE: The National Park Service have now removed “queer” and the “Q+” from the web page for stonewall, along with any mentions of transgender people.

For perspective, The Getty Center is east of the current fire zone, while Getty Villa is dead center of Pacific Palisades fire zone.

Both have some of the best fire protection in the region, but this fire is unreal…

Genuinely makes me sad that history is filled with so many incredible fascinating stories yet the most popular history show on Netflix is some dipshit looking at old civilisations and just going "looks like they used secret technology or magic to build this"

The biggest and most important thing you can do with knitting your own is purchasing authentic Cowichan wool to knit with, an integral part of the traditional sweaters.

Thinking a lot about the Coast Salish woolly dog. There was a little dog that could be sheared like a sheep and now it’s extinct and I’ll never get to meet one. I can’t even find many pictures. I love you woolly dog.
