That's one way to "ring" in the New Year.

A member of the public stopped by Phibsborough Station to get some help removing a ring.

Recall of Cube bicycles warns use must “stop immediately and without exception”
Bicycle brand Cube has issued a recall, telling customers to stop using the 2025 and 2026 road bicycles "immediately and without exception until the fork has been checked and affected forks replaced". The company has warned that the defect increases the "risk of an accident, which can cause material damage, serious injuries or even fatal injuries." The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), which repeated the recall on its website with images of the bicycles, said that there are around 190 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

We need to regulate social media and tech platforms, but instead our government is intending to regulate how and what its citizens do online.

Because, frankly, that's easier than standing up for its citizens' rights.
If you wanted to "clean up" social media, you could start by enforcing laws and regulations governing tech platforms. That would be messy, awkward, and might achieve something.

No, instead, this government is introducing new laws to monitor what citizens say and do online.

A really enjoyable read & great reporting from Orla O'Donnell. The judge schooled him in more ways than one. You know someone's serious when they break out a 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary for accuracy and remove the family from court before it even starts.

Enoch Burke has 'something to hide' over income - judge
A High Court judge has said teacher Enoch Burke and his family could be using his court case to make money and that it was clear Mr Burke had "something to hide" about his income.

Look, I am very small potatoes as an author. I make too little in royalties to live off them. But I can tell you the reason I got to write my 2nd book was bc the sales of the 1st were very good. That's what else you're eating into by pirating, our ability to keep writing what you claim to love.

If,as some predict, loads of jobs are lost by being replaced by AI, then taxpayers are going to foot the bill by way of social welfare etc.

The few billionaires will get even richer, while people will suffer.
