I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Excellent question. The answer, sadly, is that Trump doesn’t give a damn about what’s best for America.

Young men are constantly presented with models of what a successful, fulfilling life entails, and somehow it's always a dim photo of a raging asshole.
Gonna go out on a limb and say the problem with young men isn’t that no one listens to them but that they have been conditioned by society to believe strength and power are masculine traits. With few exceptions they’ve been gender segregated to some extent since they were children.

I had a few moments to dig into the “MAHA Report”. Let me begin by saying that if an undergraduate student attempted to submit this pile of garbage as a paper, they would fail the assignment.

It a superficial, agenda-driven document that ignores any scientific work that doesn’t fit that agenda.

As you assess the DEAL we're striking with Korea, remember: We ALREADY have an active free trade agreement with Korea that provides tariff free trade in nearly everything.

Expect this new agreement to... Provide for tariff free trade in nearly everything.

Good time to subscribe to Wired. I used to think of it as a guilty pleasure at the newsstand, a holdover from nerdy youth. But they are doing an excellent job covering key elements of our political reality.

My cousin just got a union job and he's never felt this level of financial security in his life before. He's about to have his second kid and he has good health insurance and a pension in 20 years.

Couldn't have happened to a better dude. I'm so happy for him. 🎉 🎉 🎉

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

might as well cut the 2026 ads now about how every Republican member of Congress gave their total and unreserved backing to the Trump tariffs.
Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

I did a huge dive into COBOL a few years ago (www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/magazi...) ...
