Please keep calling your reps to demand they oppose KOSA and other internet censorship bills!
It appears that some members of the Democratic Party are supporting KOSA.

The act purports to be about protecting children, but it could weaponize Trump's FTC to target LGBTQ+ content on the internet.

A reminder: Wisconsin still has a pair of VPN banning bills in its congress. Call your state reps and tell them to vote NO on it before they pass it through their house and senate.

hey so this is blatant false information punishing people for doing the right thing. no, it was not a "grabber". it was a reputable survey site that discord has used previously for limited surveys.

nothing can """grab""" information if you dont provide it, which an anonymous survey didnt ask for.

ID laws can be struck down as we saw in three states already. Washington State residents please make your voice heard
Washington State residents: they’re trying to pull online age verification bullshittery here too. This bill would require people to upload their ID/credit card to view online adult content. You can complain to your reps here: app.leg.wa.gov/pbc/bill/2112

Remind you, this is happening concurrently with every sex worker or nsfw artist getting demonetized and shoved off the web. They never cared about protecting kids, they just wanna be the ones in control, the ones making money.
X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

this bears repeating:

Grok is bad because it's creating NONCONSENSUAL sexual images of real people.

Not because sex is icky and should be scrubbed from the Internet.

The distinction is crucial at a moment when dangerous censorship legislation is bipartisan and widely misunderstood

Congress is about to make a huge push into online ID verification, entrenching the power of big tech and mandating that they collect even MORE data on users. Mass surveillance/censorship laws are being framed as “child safety” but they’re really abt at removing LGBTQ ppl, repro justice info, etc.

What’s happening on X with AI generated sexual images is problematic, not because it’s porn but because it’s non-consensual, harmful content being published by X.

And for those wondering, Section 230 DOES NOT protect it.

Last year, KOSA passed the Senate 91-3 but died in the House because civil liberties groups recognized it for what it is: a censorship bill disguised as child protection.
