All of the companies that make the software I use are increasing their prices, to account for an "investment" in AI.

I'm sat here imagining how my clients would feel if I added 30% to each invoice, because I "really got into gambling".

Nearly there ladies and gents

Because of the Earth's axial tilt/ elliptical orbit, the sun will only set earlier by ~3 more mins in the evening before starting to get later again from ~mid month onwards

Due to a quirk of the Earth's orbit (not quite circular), sunset times vary very little in December.

In the northern hemisphere, it will become slightly sooner through to 7th, then change very little through 18th, before starting to shift later (very slowly at first).

It is just incredible that the people who always go on about immigration and muslims and sharia law in Britain are the first to promote British immigration into a muslim country with sharia law.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

For lots of reasons, I don’t like LLMs and I don’t use them, but I know there are serious people working on ways to meaningfully incorporate them into education and I don’t doubt there are ways to do that productively. It’s probably obvious that “Have the LLM tell you the answer” isn’t one of them.

There is no congruent way to look at generative AI and think “this is the future.” The most well known fact about it is that it messes up all the time, the next being that it loses lots of money.
I think Claude Code has achieved AGI

It’s amazing how no chancellor before has thought to crack down on benefit fraud. Just incredible. We truly are ruled by the finest minds.

The actual secret to why I know stuff is that I ask a question any time I don’t understand literally anything. I don’t care how simple it is. Anybody who makes fun of you for asking a simple question likely doesn’t know the answer either

As a man, nothing will turn you into a radical feminist faster than the first time you're shown the twitter mentions and DM requests of literally any woman on the internet.

We don't need a Joe Rogan of the left. We need Bryan to see what his sister's LinkedIn Message Requests folder looks like.
