“Today the United Nations commission that I lead is publishing its legal analysis of Israel’s conduct in the Gaza Strip,” Navi Pillay writes in a guest essay. “Our conclusion is stark: Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”

This is horrifying and yet another reminder of why we can't abandon fossil fuels quickly enough.

The Elwha River is a triumph of restoration, with salmon returning after over a century's absence since major dam removals 12 years ago. The spill is on a tributary 1.5 miles from the river's main stem.
A fuel tanker crashed off Highway 101 on Friday and began leaking fuel into a major tributary for salmon, trout and the water supply for Port Angeles. It's a pretty devastating spill.

Imagine if the Democratic Party actually helped Zohran instead of trying to kneecap him at every step. A better party is immediately possible if they stop shoving money into the anti-trans combination Racism Dial/Money Toilet and instead get behind candidates people actually want.

dailymail and fox news both have articles about the koreatown senior harmonica class playing the anthem at the kings game, calling it “controversial” and saying it “sparked outrage.” literally the only evidence they have is a few tweets. a couple people tweeted about it. is this journalism now?

I am an internationalist. I believe in creating a world where people across this planet can live in peace, dignity, and prosperity whoever they happen to be. I think this world will be substantially more difficult to bring about if the United States is controlled by capital and the right.

i think the space flights for rich people’s photo ops thing deserves a lot more nuanced discussion than it’s getting. that being said, it was a terrible idea to send katy perry. the public has been turning against her for years. she is an icon of hyper-wealthy out-of-touch girlboss cringe
