Also, a reminder about free agency:

-3-year deals are usually 2-year deals. The 3rd year=a team option

-4-year deals are usually 2-year deals. The final 2 years=team option

--2 year deals are usually a 1 year deal (Year 2=Team option)

This is why you see so many guys being cut this week.

How does Grinch keep getting these jobs?
UCF has hired Alex Grinch as its new DEFENSIVE coordinator. The former USC, OU and Washington State DC had spent the 2024 season as the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Wisconsin.

When your favorite football team is incredibly down bad…
Wisconsin has its veteran quarterback. Former Maryland QB Billy Edwards Jr. commits to the Badgers.

Don’t understand the case for someone like Billy Wagner in the HOF but not Andruw Jones.
Funny story. I saw my mail person in my neighborhood as I went to take this to the post office - and I drove it to the post office anyway. My #BBHOF ballot. As always, it’s an honor.

Lions RB David Montgomery suffered a torn MCL in the team’s loss to the Bills and could be out for the season, including the playoffs, sources say. He’s having more tests to figure out the severity and next steps.

A tremendous Ashton Jeanty tribute by Josh Jacobs and the Packers.

10 touches for Jacobs on the first 11 plays.
December 16, 2024 at 1:42 AM
He's been banged up much of his rookie season but #Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper has looked like a true impact player at LB.

That is desperately need in Green Bay.

Jonathan Taylor has been named to 2024 All-Pro Dumb Ass team joining Malachi Corley as the only other player to drop the ball before the goal line.

NEW: The Pop-Tart Bowl trophy is back and better than ever ... it is now a fully functional toaster trophy!

Pop-Tart partnered with GE Appliances to build this one-of-a-kind toaster trophy. It is about 1.3x the size of a normal football + can toast full-size Pop-Tarts.

Can we teach QB’s how to slide while we’re at it?

Lawrence was asking to get decapitated on that play. That form of slide leaves your head at risk as a target and also to whiplash of it hitting the ground.

His appeal will be heard by one of the appeals officers jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA: Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, Kevin Mawae or Jordy Nelson.

Sort of appreciate the Astros leaning into their home cooking.
Isaac Paredes hit 19 HR last season

if all his games had been at the Astros’ home park, he would have had 26, per Statcast

It's the nature of the sport but sad to see building blocks of the Braves latest postseason appearances run move onto new homes:

Freddie Freeman: 6-years, $162M w/ Dodgers
Dansby Swanson: 7-years, $177M w/ Cubs
Max Fried: 8-years, $218M w/ Yankees

- 2x All-Star
- Silver Slugger
- 2 Top-5 Cy Young finishes
- .670 Winning Percentage

Respect to Steve Cohen for putting his money where his mouth is. Rare to acquire this type of talent without depleting your farm system.

How the hell is Texas the 5 seed?

🤣😂🤣

I’d argue they shouldn’t have even been awarded a home game.

Damn that’s a good pull by Purdue!
SOURCE: UNLV’s Barry Odom is expected to become the next coach at Purdue. He went 19-8 at UNLV and overhauled a program that had been down for 40 years. The move was first reported by Yahoo.

Jeanty’s season is certainly Heisman worthy but a weird schedule quirk has definitely helped his campaign.

Boise State has played 4 nationally televised Friday night games this year. Weird, right?

2 aired on FOX and 2 on Fox Sports 1.
Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty and Boise State secure the Mountain West title with a 21-7 victory over UNLV❗

Jeanty finished with 209 rushing yards.

Legit question, why can’t we acknowledge Barry Sanders’ bowl game?

We know what happened.
We know it’s stupid to turn a blind eye to it.
Ashton Jeanty is up to 2,420 rushing yards.

The official record is Barry Sanders' 2,628 yards in 1988.

The true record is Barry Sanders' 2,850 (bowl game didn't count back then).
