Besides the insane mortgage costs right now, this is the other part of home ownership that I don't envy
My current dishwasher costs about a grand when it was purchased in 2020. And it lasted four years. It’s been broken and cleaning like crap for a year now. I don’t want to spend another grand and then have to get a new dishwasher in 2030. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH.

It's weird - here in San Diego SO MANY people are involved in the military, and I get why - there's lots of benefits to a military career.
At the same time, when you feel the scope of the military-industrial complex, it's so disheartening to see how many are involved in this machine of death
