This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

On X I used data to show London does not have the highest crime rate in the world.

10 mins later a right winger linked to my book.

10 mins after that I got 40 1-star reviews from unverified accounts (previously 4.9 star avg). Fair play to Amazon - they removed them all.

But that's how it works.

*sound on* This is Andrea Jenkyns's ACTUAL singing entrance to the Reform UK conference.

Utter crackpots. And anyone who thinks this kind of idiotic look-at-me amateurs are how this country will "rediscover its pride" needs to have a lie-down.

Farage’s speech was the lead item on BBC radio 4 hourly news bulletins today, with no attempt to correct or even comment on his assertions. What is going on there?
The total lack of basic journalistic professionalism of this BBC story - summarising Farage proposals with (at time of writing) no attempt to include the views of other parties, refugee advocates etc www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Nigel Farage says illegal migration is a 'scourge'
The Reform UK leader will outline his plans to tackle small boat crossing later on Tuesday.

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

Welcome news that Bobat and Smith have left Derby County. I worked extensively in Business Intelligence and AI and know what it can do. But it always has to be in the hands of business experts. No technology could ever have made these two football experts. #dcfcfans #dcfc

The story of Snoop Dog’s investment in SCFC made me think about how hard it seems to be for DCFC to find investment. And on the face of it, it’s puzzling. The gates, debt position, stadium and training ground should make it really attractive. I wonder what is putting off potential backers? #dcfc

Reading John Percy post that Nat Philips is on the verge of signing for WBA. #dcfc should be able to compete with WBA on wages and fees. Hugely disappointing news. We get much bigger gates and presumably higher revenue. We will have to see how the window pans out but this is not good.

When did you ever hear the BBC stating that it must alter “story selection” and “other types of output, such as drama”, to win the trust of Green voters, or of unrepresented people on the left?
All the shifts are in just one direction.

Can many people name the chairman of Labour, Tories, Lib Dems or Greens?

How often does an unelected bureaucrat get the 8:10 interview on Radio 4?

Completely disproportionate media coverage of Zia Yusuf saga
Why do Reform get a daily BBC News “Breaking” alert?

Zia Yusuf isn’t an elected MP and has had two stories and a tiny by-election got a National (or international?) breaking news alert

No breaking story for Attenborough warning future king of ecocide?!
