I always push back on this one because THE number one thing that would bring people into theaters has nothing to do with theaters.
Cost of living has risen so high and wages stayed stagnant that people have less money for fun stuff. If people were financially comfortable they'd go to the theater.

All of this money spent on this study and not a single mention of things that might keep people away: disruptive audience behavior, increasingly poor technical presentation, every shrinking theatrical windows (or day and date indies). I love theaters, and go multiple times a week, but it’s grim.
