This is hazardous - being hogtied like this makes it difficult to breathe, because all your weight and pressure is on your chest, and it’s hard to expand your lungs. I’ve seen people pass out from being hogtied, and without QUICK intervention, bad things happen. Positional asphyxia is real.

Armus is a malevolent, sentient entity from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Skin of Evil". It is a liquid, tar-like being, the physical manifestation of the negative emotions and hatred of a long-vanished race of "Titans" who abandoned it on the planet Vagra II. Armus possesses advanced psychic powers, can absorb and torture humanoids within its liquid form, and is impervious to phaser fire, possibly feeding off the energy.
Origin and Nature
A "Skin of Evil": Armus was created when a race of advanced beings, known as Titans, rid themselves of all their negative emotions and hatred. This unwanted substance coalesced into a sentient, tar-like being.
