The Pyramid of Unas at Saqqara contains the oldest collection of religious texts. Known as 'Pyramid Texts' the intention behind these 5th dynasty inscriptions was to help the Pharaoh on his journey to the afterlife and protect his body in the process.

In ancient Egypt, the Book of the Dead was intended to protect the deceased on their way to the afterlife with a variety of spells and to aid them as it was seen as a dangerous journey with numerous obsticals. The image comes from the book for Kha and is located at the Museo Egizio in Turin.

The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.
