Yeah the NL is flat, but in my most humble opinion, rain + cold north wind makes for the absolute worst cycling conditions. I'd take Calgary winter over Dutch winter any day.
Posts about urban biking in Dutch cities are routinely replied to with comments like “well, they have the big advantage of being relatively flat.”
