We can stay here or we can go somewhere else.
Talking about the "true" intent of the Framers, calling only for restoration, is support for the white Xtian nationalists trying to remake the country. Just as the radical Republicans after the war, we have to remake the system that brought us here. youtu.be/zJ49gA2cqS0?...

Realized what the general tone of political posts here reminds me of: the demonstrations in Israel against the war. It looked impressive from here sometimes maybe, but they were only about the hostages & the safety of IDF soldiers. So now that's all done. Genocide? Que? Basically part of the problem

Nobody understands how money works & RIP Congress I guess
Sean Duffy on blue states: "What I can do is I can pull their money. That's the leverage I do have ... I guarantee you that the federal taxpayer is not going to fund their roads and bridges and their systems when they are putting illegals on the roads."

I imagine more people in San Francisco will be looking at this kind of small solar+storage system. Even if you can't feed it back into the grid, some config like this could serve as a backup for refrigerators, routers, &c. Not that we have balconies, which we'll regret when it's 110°. But I digress.

#AvatarFireAndAsh µreview: Literally the 3rd word spoken is "bro". The animation is spectacular, but sometimes the high frame rate makes it look like the world's most expensive telenovela. CGI Oona Chaplin chews everything as Varang. It's long, but at least it's the whole thing.

I'm about halfway through #TheDevils, Joe Abercrombie's latest, & so far Vigga could easily be the newest recruit to the Night Watch, which is about the highest praise I can conceive for a fantasy character.

Except that's not how it actually works, but the USA leftish can't shake free of the Friedman worldview bc they want to be Serious & Responsible. Like anybody cares. We've learned nothing, as usual.

The #SpongeBobSquarepants movie was worth the A-List slot just for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles short. The main feature was inoffensive. If you have kids who want to go, it'll be fine.

This is payback to Colorado for not pardoning one of Trump's election fiddlers. Though I'm sure Vought had it on his wishlist. But when you realize how unconnected this is to anything defenders are talking about, it's so depressing. Words have no meaning. The agency leadership goes along w it.
The Trump administration says it will dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research, a cornerstone for American climate and weather science. I went on NPR today to explain what this could mean for climate research.

What I wish is that places like San Francisco would realize that they just haven't been hit by climate change YET. Recognize the gift & start preparing. Treat extreme weather like earthquakes.
One levee yesterday, another today. I’m grateful there haven’t been any deaths, but boy do I feel for the folks whose homes have been flooded.

We are so not ready, not in our infrastructure, not in our policies, not psychologically or socially.

But electricity is for commies and homos
China has achieved first-mover advantage in autonomous, connected, electric (ACE) vehicles. The US response has been tariffs and market isolation. A new CFR paper by @profdavidhart.bsky.social argues this is a trap—we need to compete, not retreat. 1/

Super useful and informative thread about Section 230.
It’s very simple. Genuinely very simple. Until Section 230, it was the case that any website that allowed a user to publish any content of any kind could be sued if they said *anything* libelous or bad. That includes web hosts, blogging platforms, social media etc.
