George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.
"They put me on suicide watch and they put me in the cell, I'm naked, in like a hospital dress and just a concrete bed with like a mattress, like a thin mattress and, they leave the light on 24/7."

This has nothing to do with Trump. I’m sorry that Rev. Brown perceived it that way. We need to stay on alert, but not prematurely sound the alarm.
This is Real History that was thrust upon us in the most evil way! The divisivennes is in trying to erase it!

How is this legal? Can't a court stop this? @sifill.bsky.social @aclu.org

Are they doing this to the Holocaust Museum et al or has it not received federal funds?

So by Trump’s logic, if we buy more from a country (because we’re the richest in the world) than they buy from us, that’s a “tariff”

No. Words mean things. And misunderstanding concepts leads to bad policies, and higher prices/taxes for us all

If you're looking for an explainer on why due process matters to share with friends and family members who might ... need convincing, I've removed the (partial) paywall from my March 19 post for "One First" on the topic:

Bonus 133: Due Process and the Rule of Law
Too many Americans don't understand, at a basic level, *why* the Constitution requires due process when the government deprives anyone of their life, liberty, or property.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

I don't think it's obvious because of the overwhelming amount of chaos in the news, but this is the biggest shift in American foreign policy since 1945. This is a titanic shift, and I'm not sure anyone knows what the result is going to be.

- US farmers provided 41% of food delivered by USAID
- $340M of purchases/shipments are now paused. Over 680,000 tonnes.
- Food stranded in Houston
- Aid stopped in transit.

The world’s poor starving, food rotting & US farmers screwed.
