Getting Outer Wilds: Design Works by @lostincult.co.uk today has had me obsessing over my favorite video game all over again.
I agree with the foreword that the one flaw of the game is that you can never play it for the first time again, but this book helps.

As of today the count of trans people I know about from my Mormon mission (including myself) is now four. I love hearing about this every time and studies need to be conducted about why these conditions turned us.

This video had a lot of really interesting things, but the one that's gonna stick with me is the reminder that Capitalism will not hesitate to create a facade of a dead person to advertise nostalgic virtues that the real person might not even have really held when living. Big ick

So many things to gush about in Silksong, but the thing I've been stuck on all day is how clever it is to use prayer beads as the currency.
It's thematically perfect, satisfying to see in the world, and it allows for a great way to preserve currency between deaths by stringing them together.

You hear this a lot on the left but it isn't true. USAID did not "fail to tell its story to Americans," the right targeted the agency with lies and misinformation.
Ultimately this narrative turns conservative attacks into even more calls for the left to reform.
