We’re in this nightmare—at least partly—because social media let the most intellectually uncurious people you know find each other and convince themselves that their opinions were just as good as everyone else’s facts.

Everyone up in arms about “mentally ill homeless people!!!” better be equally concerned about things like this.
I live in DC. Moved here 22 years ago last week and never left. I choose to live here because it’s beautiful and complicated and unlike any other American city. I just wish the rest of the country would stop sending literally the most vile people they can find to keep fucking it up.
