If your kid is confiding in their teacher instead of you about any personal issue, it’s because YOUR kid has deemed YOU unsafe. That’s it.

I know everyone believes it’s Miller (and I know RFK, Jr. is giving all of them a run for their money) but I tend to think this one’s the very worst of the lot. Evil feels a chill when this guy walks in.

We’re in this nightmare—at least partly—because social media let the most intellectually uncurious people you know find each other and convince themselves that their opinions were just as good as everyone else’s facts.

In 2028, if I sense that a candidate’s entire being isn’t consumed with rage and vengeance about what’s happening right now, they will not be getting my vote.

Everyone up in arms about “mentally ill homeless people!!!” better be equally concerned about things like this.
NEW: The president, who has framed mental health as a national crisis, paused rules to hold insurers accountable for unlawfully denying coverage. And Congress cut funding to the agency that enforces insurers’ equal treatment of mental and physical health.

I live in DC. Moved here 22 years ago last week and never left. I choose to live here because it’s beautiful and complicated and unlike any other American city. I just wish the rest of the country would stop sending literally the most vile people they can find to keep fucking it up.

Imagine the “history” you’re proud of being a failed 4-year period when your ancestors were so determined to buy and sell human beings that they unsuccessfully committed treason against the nation you claim to love now.
Hegseth on restoring a Confederate monument in Arlington cemetery: "We recognize our history. We don't erase it. We don't follow the woke lemmings off the cliff that want to tear down statues ... we're proud of our history."

Things that scare me more than NYC include a tiny, tiny face with an upsetting gum-to-tooth ratio situated in the middle of a giant melon head.

1000000 times this.
A lot of older adults forced a war on universities because that’s where their kids realized their parents were evil.
Linda McMahon on Columbia settlement: "This is a monumental victory for conservatives who wanted to do things on these elite campuses for a long time because we had such far left-leaning professors."

Almost 30 years later, I’m THRILLED I never got off the wait list.
Columbia University has handed over its undergraduate admissions process to Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, who will now decide at their sole discretion whether the university has admitted enough white people. It's no longer an independent institution.

From the DOJ sentencing memorandum that recommends time served — a one-day sentence — in the case over the officer who was convicted for his role in the 2020 raid that led to Breonna Taylor's killing — firing 10 shots, although not one that killed Taylor. This is an appalling memo:

New in PN: Pam Bondi is breaking the DOJ

"The Department of Justice is no longer in the business of justice at all, and has squandered the presumption of regularity it once enjoyed with judges. One of the bulwarks of American civil society is functionally MIA — a massive blow to state capacity."
Pam Bondi is breaking the DOJ
And will take generations to put it back together.

I’m old enough to remember a time when conservative politicians had to hide their racism, their cruelty, and their disdain for anyone not in their tax bracket.

It’s hard to figure out which has less integrity today: Lisa Murkowski or UPenn. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Genuine Question because I Do not understand… so if these men roll up in plain clothes and masks, grab a human being… even a child, and throw them in an unmarked vehicle I am just supposed to look the other way and say nothing ?? Ask Nothing ?

Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” includes a tax loophole for billionaires—practically paying them to “donate” to private school tuition for families earning up to $500,000 a year. It increases the deficit & weakens public schools.

Tell your lawmakers: Say NO to school vouchers.
